Daouda Leonard | CEO

Daouda Leonard is a 2021 Billboard Music ‘Change Agent’ and Rolling Stone 2021 ‘Future 25’ honoree. He has worked as a manager, publisher, producer, A&R and creative director for Grimes, DJ Snake, Skrillex, BloodPop® and more. His creative contributions have generated over 15 billion global media impressions, sales and streams to date for cultural leaders including Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Drake and Justin Bieber. Leonard’s collaborative effort on Grimes’s “Miss Anthropocene” album yielded a Billboard 2020 Top 10 hit and led to the record setting $6.5M 2021 NFT sale of her “WarNymph Collection Vol. 1.” A graduate from Northeastern University School of Business with a degree in Management Information Systems, Daouda worked on Wall Street at Tudor Investment as an information technology analyst prior to joining the music industry.

Aaron “funkytek” Murray | CTO

Veteran technologist and entrepreneur, Aaron founded Fractal, the influential open-source firm behind GulpJS (used by Uber, Facebook, Microsoft and more) and is the former CTO of Factory (a stealth innovation firm working with clients ranging from Nike to Cisco). Aaron started working with blockchain technology in 2015 and has worked extensively with cutting-edge tech companies (Protocol Labs) and A-List musicians (Grimes) to build infrastructure and products that make beautiful web3 experiences accessible to all users. Prior to co-founding CreateSafe, Aaron combined his love of music and technology to innovate with clients like De La Soul and found Code&Beats: A Hackathon and Hip-Hop party exploring the intersection of tech and music.

Langa Kambi-Shamba | COO

Langa is a seasoned management consultant with expertise in corporate organizational strategy, project management and strategic procurement. Over the past 5 years he has developed his skills in no-code programming and financial modeling with a focus on creating business transparency for creators and their teams. He has over 8 years consulting experience, working for Deloitte & Touche and Letsema Consulting. A graduate of Morehouse College of Business Management, Langa is also an MBA degree holder, which he earned from Dowling College- Townsend School of Business.

Jon Tanners | PRESIDENT

Jon Tanners is a manager and publisher whose work in music has resulted in over 30 billion streams. Jon manages Grammy nominated, multi-platinum producers Take A Daytrip (producers for Lil Nas X, Kid Cudi, Dua Lipa, NBA YoungBoy), Grammy Producer of the Year nominee Dahi (producer for Kendrick Lamar, Steve Lacy, Drake, Brent Faiyaz), Michael Uzowuru (producer for Rosalia, Frank Ocean, SZA), and independent star artist Ghostemane. Jon partnered with Take A Daytrip and Universal Music Publishing Group to start NO IDLE, a publishing venture that has spawned hits with Lil Nas X, The Weeknd, Cardi B, and more. Jon got his start as a music journalist, writing for Complex, Pigeons and Planes, and Troy Carter’s SMASHD. His experience bringing hits to market and guiding the careers of successful producers and artists has helped inform CreateSafe’s product design. He is a graduate of Columbia University (CC 2011) with a B.A. in Film Studies.
